Apple changes name of new iPad to “iPad Wi-Fi+Cellular” instead of “iPad Wi-FI+4G”

While the new iPad and its 4G LTE-compatibility works well in the U.S. and some other countries, there are other countries where it’s not working yet primarily because these countries’ 4G LTE network is not supported by the new iPad. This is particularly true in Australia and the United Kingdom. Because of this, Apple is facing various complaints from those countries particularly Australia and UK.

The reason for the complaints being the fact that Apple previously calls one model of the new iPad as “iPad WiFi+4G” and yet it’s not working with other countries’ 4G LTE. For these countries, these is false marketing. So to avoid further complications, Apple decided to call the said iPad model as iPad WiFi+Cellular.

Here’s a rather interesting information released by NPD through its “Apple Ecosystem Study.” According to NPD, Apple has successfully drawn new customers as around 25% of iPad buyers in the U.S. are first-time owners of not only of the iPad but of all Apple products. This means that these customers have not own a single Apple product before and that the iPad is their first.

The report also revealed that only 33% of U.S. homes own Apple product. This number however is growing faster and have passed the 37 million American household where Apple devices are found in. Guess which Apple product is at those U.S. homes? – You guessed it right – the iPad.
